Bio
Paul Bobadilla is a filmmaker from the South Bay of Los Angeles. He is a graduate from San Pedro High School, Los Angeles Harbor College and Chapman University in Orange, CA. At LAHC, Mr. Bobadilla wrote film critiques for the Harbor Tides, worked as a camera operator for HC TV and served on the Dean’s and President’s list. In the summer of 2009, Mr. Bobadilla earned his BFA in Film Production at Chapman University as a Hispanic Scholarship Foundation recipient. Chapman’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts allowed Mr. Bobadilla to learn narrative storytelling, film production and help redefine his voice as a filmmaker. His thesis film Tijuaneros (shot in Mexico and the US, 16MM & HD) tells the story of an aspiring photographer who must choose between a camera or a gun when his best friend is murder in Mexico. “Tijuaneros is a sample of the cinema I want to produce—hard hitting, powerhouse narratives that don’t allow the audience to rest, raw and uncut," says Paul. "It took a lot of guts and passion to make the picture possible and it shows." The success of the film is on a steady incline where possibilities are endless, as the film was nominated for two awards at Chapman University, won Best Edited film, was an Official Selection at the Los Angeles Latino Film Festival and Cine Sin Fin Festival in East. LA (09) and screens at the approaching Boston Int. Film Festival. Currently, Mr. Bobadilla is in development on two features. The first is Tijuaneses (a multi-narrative story written in the same vain as Gomorra, Pulp Fiction, and Amores Perros) and an Untitled Carnival Project about spirituality, magic, and belief set in a 1985 America circus. “Tijuaneses and the Untitled Carnival story are cut from the same cloth as Tijuaneros,” he recounts. “They are both dark coming-of-age stories about choice, acceptance, and believing in yourself. The characters must learn, or at least come to understand, that sacrifice is a must archive their dreams.” For additional information about Mr. Bobadilla, Chicanismo Productions or ways to contribute to the movement, please email: 65chevynova@sbcglobal.net

Cool site. I actually met a friend of yours, at a networking event, in London a couple of weeks ago.
