Joy E. Reed is the creative force behind Oh, MY! Productions, LLC and has independently produced and directed a number of short films, including I'VE MET A WONDERFUL MAN, official selection of the 2006 Provincetown International (Massachusetts, USA), Filmstock Int’l (Luton, UK), and Wreck-Beach Int’l (Ontario, Canada) Film Festivals, and BOXED IN, who's successful festival run includes an official screening at the 2009 London Lesbian & Gay Film Festival.. She is currently producing/directing MEN COMING TOGETHER: the Tale of Hot Nude Yoga, a feature length documentary about a community of gay men in New York City who practice naked yoga (currently in post-production). In June of 2009, she premiered OUTCOMES, LGBTQ stories from the Hudson Valley, a series of 5 documentary shorts drawn from interviews with an array LGBTQ people who have come out of the closet, putting a human face on a highly politicized subject; the subjects include Alix Dobkin, a lesbian musical pioneer and 1970s feminist icon; and Ron Nyswaner, screenwriter of the groundbreaking film Philadelphia and gay rights activist. Ms. Reed has studied film theory at Vassar College and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater Performance from the State University of New York at Fredonia. She's also learning to play the banjo.
